Seven Stories, Ouseburn

Seven Stories is the National Centre for Children’s Books, located at 30 Lime Street in Ouseburn, Newcastle. Seven Stories is a charity, founded in 1996 by Elizabeth Hammill OBE and Mary Briggs OBE, to collect, champion and celebrate its children’s literature. In 2002 the charity purchased this former warehouse in Ouseburn. Following restoration and conversion of the building Seven Stories opened to the public on the 19th of August 2005.[1] The building is Grade II listed and was originally built as a flour mill built c.1840, and later used as a warehouse.[2]
