School Green Sculpture

This sculpture by Gilbert Ward is located on the site of an ancient village cross at Longhoughton. It was commissioned by Longboughton Parish Council and unveiled in 2004. Made from Doddington Sandstone, the sculpture reminds us of the Celtic traditions of the village, which was on the route of the pilgrimage from the Holy Island of Lindisfarne to Durham.
