Saxon Cross, Warden


There is a Saxon stone cross in the churchyard of St Michael's Church in Low Warden, Northumberland. Known as the "Nether Warden Cross", or "Warden Village Cross", it dates from around the 7th century, and previously stood in the garden of Nether Warden House. It was moved to it's present location in 1957. The cross is Grade I listed on the National Heritage List for England.
