Sand Castles


'The Sand Castles' by artist Richard Broderick from North Shields (1999), commissioned by North Tyneside Council. This is a functional piece of art, with built-in seats, located on the central promenade, near Spanish City, in Whitley Bay.

Co-Curate is a project which brings together online collections, museums, universities, schools and community groups to make and re-make stories and images from North East England and Cumbria.
