Roadside Preaching Cross, Great Ormside

There is a square late medieval cross-base with 5 steps at Great Ormside. The cross was destroyed during the Commonwealth and, shortly afterwards, a sycamore sapling replaced it. This tree is now mature and has displaced the steps. The old cross base is Grade II listed on the National Heritage List for England.
