    "Market cross. 1735. Ashlar and stone slate roof. Small square single-storey building. A single round arch on each side. Alternate courses of stone project slightly to form banded rustication. Alternate voussoirs project also. Moulded imposts. Pyramidal roof with square stone top which has date and worn inscription on a shield on east side, sundial on south side and formerly open arches now blocked on the other 2 sides. This also has a pyramidal roof, with ball finial and vane...."
