"Railway station. 1876, for the Midland Railway. Red brick with standstone dressings and Welsh slate roof. Single storey range with cross-wing at north end. Platform elevation: Five bays with 1, 3 and 5 gabled, the most southerly one is smaller.....Planning largely unchanged. An almost unaltered example of the larger type of Settle and Carlisle station (q.v. Settle Station)...." -
