CHURCH OF ST CATHERINE - Eskdale - List Entry

    "Parish Church, C14 with later additions and alterations; restored 1881. Random rubble. Graduated slate roof with stone ridge; gabled bellcote at west end, apex cross at east. Single storey, 4 bays. Gabled south porch has plank inner door with pointed head....Font at west end has octagonal C14 (?-Pevsner suggests mid C17) bowl on later stem; panel with low-relief carving (reminiscent of window tracery) to each face. Board on south wall, dated 1798, lists benefactors...."
