Heversham on the Arnside to Hincaster Branch

  • Description

Opened in 1876, the Furness Railway's Sandside to Hincaster branch line linked the Railway's Arnside station near Grange-over-Sands in Cumbria, with the main LNWR line. Near to this site on the line once stood Heversham Station, opened in 1890, the station finally closed to passenger traffic in 1941. The line was taken up in 1966 and the station buildings were demolished. Only subtle traces remain.
