"Lych Gate, 1919 as World War I memorial. Squared tooled stone with ashlar quoins and dressings; Westmorland slate roof. 4-centred arch of 2 hollow- chamfered orders in square frame, with heraldry and oak foliage in spandrels. Flanking buttresses on battered bases, carried up to hollow-chamfered eaves cornice stepped up over inscribed tablet above arch. Open-panelled wooden gates with alpha and omega on stiles...." -
