Glendale Pharmacy, High Street, Wooler
-
Description
"At the junction with Glendale Road. See also [[240656]]. From 'Town and Country Trail' leaflet, available from [[3449946]]: " Wooler has always been the social and economic heart of Glendale. In 1864 the town boasted 14 tailors, 2 saddlers, 5 blacksmiths, 8 boot & shoe makers, 4 cartwrights, 2 coopers and 2 watch and clock makers. Obviously times have changed but the shops and inns of today are the mainstay of the town's day to day trade. Many of the shop fronts have retained their traditional style.""
