    "Restoration of this part of the Dene was carried out by North Tyneside Council, funded by Northumbrian Water Limited. This followed the installation of the pumping station as part of the bathing water scheme. The reopening of the Dene was performed by the Mayor of North Tyneside Councillor E.N. Darke on the 16th June 1997."
