Description
"Pevsner says that "Nos. 28-30 {centre} appears to be a plain 18th C brick building with some 19th C ground floor alterations. [But] the interior reveals that it is a late 16th C - early 17th C merchant's house. The building is Grade I listed http://list.english-heritage.org.uk/resultsingle.aspx?uid=1024915 . To the left, the 15th C front-gabled timber frame building “The Cooperage” is Grade II* listed http://list.english-heritage.org.uk/resultsingle.aspx?uid=1024916 . Looming above {left} is “Turnbull’s Warehouse”, built for Robinson & Co, Printers, in the late 19th C. It was occupied by E & F Turnbull Ltd from 1963 until it was redeveloped as a “luxury loft-style apartment building” in 2002 http://structurae.net/structures/e-f-turnbull-warehouse ; it is Grade II listed http://list.english-heritage.org.uk/resultsingle.aspx?uid=1325543 .
