Description
Consecrated on 10 October 1837 by the Bishop of Durham. Situated in Sugley Field. Initially a Chapel of Ease to St Michael & All Angels, Newburn. parish created in 1887. It's axis is north / south, not the usual east / west because of pit workings underground. -
