  • Description

Mortimer School in South Shields were awarded the coveted Primary School of the Year prize at the Chance to Shine Schools Awards 2015. The judges said the school was an example of the impact Chance to Shine can have on schools, pupils and cricket clubs. Through the programme, the teachers have developed skills to officiate cricket matches and to deliver sessions. Since a link with the local club was formed, the membership of the junior section has trebled with 80% of juniors linked to the school.
