Hawthorn Terrace, Walbottle

  • Description

"The old Hexham Road is built on the line of Hadrian's Wall and sets a straight course down hill to cross the deep valley of Walbottle Dene (bridged) to the west. The vallum is in the fields on the left. Walbottle was spelt 'Wallbottle' on OS maps prior to 1930. The houses of Beverley Terrace are on the right and [[1988078]] down the road on the left."
