    "...Hallgarth War Memorial was unveiled on 19 June 1920 by Canon Martin and dedicated by Canon Williams. The memorial was designed by WH Wood of Durham and made by Bowman and Sons, Stamford. It commemorates 38 local servicemen who died in the First World War and was paid for by local fundraising. Following the Second World War the names of ten men and one woman who died in that conflict were added...."
