    "A deep horn sounded, and we thought a ship was coming. It sounded again and we realised it was from the bridge. It closed to traffic and started to move. A half turn one way, and then a full turn the other [maybe more, I lost count]. No ship passed through, so it must have been a regular drill. We were on the steps up to the castle, with a grandstand, if sectional, view." Photo by Christine Johnstone, 2010.
