    " Railway viaduct. 1837-9 by John and Benjamin Green for Newcastle and North Shields Railway Company. Sandstone ashlar with iron arches and superstructure (added in 1869 when the original laminated wood construction was removed). 1,048 feet long; 82 feet high. 7 iron girder arches of spans varying from 115 to 128 feet....."
