"...The stone memorial, c3m tall, stands on The Green in the centre of the village. It takes the form of a column, square on plan, standing on a two-stage base. The column’s entablature includes a simple frieze of metopes and triglyphs and a cornice. The column is surmounted by a pyramidal cap. The foot of the memorial is enclosed by a low rail...."
