"Railway viaduct,now disused 1852, probably by Sir George Barclay-Bruce. Stone. 4 semicircular arches with chamfered arch rings springing from rock-faced piers, roll-moulded imposts; the-whole flanked by rusticated pilasters. Projecting half-round cornice to base of parapet. For Alston branch of the Newcastle-Carlisle railway...." -
