Pillar at Bloody Bush

  • Description

"Old toll pillar at Bloody Bush on the England/Scotland border. The pillar has some interesting inscriptions with prices for horses hauling coal, 'other' horses, cattle and 'sheep, calves and swine'. The pillar also provides distances to various locations including Mounces, Bellingham, Hexham and Hawick." Photo by Peter McDermott, 2007.
