The T&G Allan store in Whitley Bay closed in 2009, the store in Morpeth remains open. The company was originally established in 1858, in Newcastle on Collingwood Street, by brothers Thomas and George Allan. The store was a newsagent, stationery shop and bookseller, later selling toys, gifts, and greeting cards.
