Inner Farne

  • Description

"A bank of solar panels provides electricity for this very ecologically-aware place. The old pele tower (circa 1500) serves as accommodation for the National Trust bird-wardens during their stay. The building in the middle of the picture is the information centre, and behind this to the right is the restored Chapel of St Cuthbert. In the foreground an Arctic tern gives a very vocal performance by a popular nesting-area." Photo by Barbara Carr, 2013.
