    "This 8m high obelisk on Lanton Hill was erected in 1827 by Alexander Davidson in memory of his brother John Davidson. A plaque was added by Sir William Davidson commemorating Alexander Davidson who died in 1829. The sandstone inscription plaque has weathered badly." Photo by Walter Baxter, 2007.
