Tynemouth Castle, Priory and Coastguard Station, Northumberland

  • Description

"A castle. A Priory. The modern Coastguard Station. And the photograph is taken from the Spanish Battery where artillery was still positioned to guard the mouth of the Tyne until the 1950's, maybe even later. I recall watching searchlights shining out to sea from here at that time." Photo by Chris Morgan, 2012, and licensed for reuse under a Creative Commons Licence.
