Though entirely voluntary our museum operates to the highest standards. It has achieved full accreditation from the MLA, a Carnegie Award for excellent interpretation and has been highly commended by Renaissance North East and the Arts Council as an outstanding volunteer run museum. Co-Curate is a project which brings together online collections, museums, universities, schools and community groups to make and re-make stories and images from North East England and Cumbria.
