    Article by Sonia Sharma, Chronicle Live 11th Jan 2014. "Efforts are underway to bring the Buddle Art Centre in Wallsend back to life following its closure in 2008. A former arts venue where superstar Sting practised during his early years is being brought back to life. The Buddle Arts Centre, on Station Road, in Wallsend, has been closed since 2008. Before that, the Grade-II listed building acted as a vital hub for community art and drama activities for 27 years, hosting plays, music and exhibitions. Wallsend-born Sting practised his music there many years ago and returned to stage a concert at the Buddle in April 1991...."
