'Spirit of South Shields', Jetty at Captains Wharf

  • Description

"The sculpture by artist, Irene Brown, was installed in 2000. The bronze statue in the form of a ship's figurehead looks out over the River Tyne close to the path of the passenger ferry. The same figure has been used at other locations in South Shields." Photo by Andrew Curtis, 2015, and licensed for reuse under a Creative Commons Licence.
