254/365 Church of St George, Cullercoats

  • Description

The rather fantastic church of St George at Cullercoats. This was my visit as part of the 2010 Heritage Open Days. The excellent chap who was minding the shop unlocked the door so I could go up onto the balcony above the baptistry, which gave a much better angle for the shot. The stone ceiling is quite amazing, and as it's on a smaller scale that a cathedral, it feels much more personal and cosy. Fabulous place, well worth a visit!
