-
Description
"The building on the corner was designed by John Johnstone for the Newcastle and Gateshead Gas Company in 1884-6. The style is described as French-Renaissance with a very ornate roof-line which features multiple spires. The building was later the home of Wengers department store and a Yates Wine Lodge."
