Description
"Built c 1901, by Matthew Horner Graham for G G Laidlaw, as a handsome Edwardian medicines manufactory and offices; the name is after the famous Greek physician of the 2nd C. Red brick piers rise up from a very tall ground floor of stone arches and columns; the two main sides are flanked by tall bay windows, and at each corner there is a squat octagonal tower with round windows. The building has been converted into shops and around 60 housing association flats. The building is not listed." Photo by Mike Quinn, 2013, and licensed for reuse under a Creative Commons Licence. -
