I was running to catch a bus yesterday. It pulled away before I could get to it. To escape from embarrassment I just kept running, as if I didn't want that bus anyway. I ended up walking to the next stop. It was raining. I also seem to dislike going in the wrong direction and having to turn around and walk back the way I came. Somehow I've failed in front of onlookers. I did neither of these things in Asia. Hopefully I'll be the proud owner of a new car tomorrow. This baby will be our road-hog around Europe, hopefully. Today's Photo - Park Methodist Church, Jarrow Park Methodist church has sat on Beedburn road for 124 years. Even for a faithless man such as myself, it's extremely sad news to hear of its eminent demolition. It simply doesn't have the funds to continue. Rachel's mother, who has attended the church for years, managed to get me access to it on Sunday morning. I strolled along the aisles with my tripod and camera looking for the interesting and unique. The moist smell in the air seemed to fit perfectly in this antique building. I wondered if the wooden seats were the original ones. I sat for a while waiting for my camera shutter to close and tried to imagine the hustle and bustle of this place in the late 19th century. I was also acutely aware of the utter silence that surrounded me. It was eerie, but not unnerving, if that makes sense. -
