Segedunum Tower

  • Description

This is a photograph from my 6th Birthday, which I celebrated at Segedunum Roman Fort in Wallsend. I chose the photograph as Tyneside has a great deal of Roman history with Hadrian’s Wall ending at the fort where this photo was taken. As my Dad has lived in Tyneside all of his life I asked him if he was interested in Roman history when he was younger. My Dad said that he has always been interested in history and while the ancient artefacts found are the same, he told me that museums are much more interactive now where they had been stuffy and rather boring when he was my age.
