Newcastle Exhibition of May 1887

  • Description

Drawing by H F Davey of visitors browsing the Newcastle Upon Tyne Exhibition of 1887. This scene depicts people walking across a replica of the old Tyne Bridge (1781-1866), complete with models of the original buildings which had stood on it. The replica bridge, two thirds the size of the original, was constructed over an artificial lake at the exhibition site.
