Whitehouse Cottages

    7th November 1941, Whitehouse Cottages. One High Explosive bomb direct hit, this bomb burst on impact and caused no crater but blast damage was extensive. 5 cottages were demolished, 38 seriously damaged and 233 slightly damaged. 2 people were killed, 5 seriously injured and 11 slightly injured. There were 3 unexploded bombs of a similar type in the immediate vicinity each only a few yards from the dock railway.
