The Pitmen's Derby 'Showgirl' wins 1930. Gosforth Park, Tyne and Wear. Horses; racing. 'The Pitman's Derby' Show Girl wins the Northumberland Plate. Includes some very good shots which really give one the feel of a race meeting; c. 1930. Crowds in stands and pressing up against fence. Horses in the ring. Horses lining up. A man having a bit of trouble w/ a horse. Start of race. Various shots during race. Owners leading horses w/jockeys mounted; one horse is dancing sideways. Winning horse led around Winners' Circle by owner.
