    Newcastle, Tyne and Wear. Various shots of the Mayor of Newcastle boarding a train at Newcastle railway station and travelling with his entourage and numerous other men along a newly-electrified rail line to South Shields - this is the first train to travel on the electric line. On arriving at South Shields station, the train starts off again, back to Newcastle. Several brief shots of the train driver holding a lever in the cab; view from the back of the train as we travel along the track; high angle view of the train approaching a station. Note: the Mayor is not named; could be W R Wallace.
