003054:The Close Newcastle upon Tyne C.1880

  • Description

Description : The Close runs parrallel to the river from Sandhill to Forth Banks. It is known as the Close because of the narrowness of the street. It was the dwelling place of the merchants in the 17th century but later fell into disrepair. It has since been developed as part of the quayside development project.
