    Type : Reprographic copy Description : A newspaper copy of an engraving of a model of the Medieval Tyne Bridge in The Royal Jubilee Exhibition Newcastle upon Tyne 1887. The view shows the model of the Medieval Tyne bridge which was built over a lake and was two-thirds of the original size. Shops the three towers and the Chapel of the Virgin can be seen on the bridge.The Medieval Bridge was in use from approximately c.1250 - 1771.Bridges Collection : Local Studies Source of Information : The newspaper clippings were received in 1923. There are two illustrations on the bridge and a paragraph of text about the model. The second engraving is 003384b.
