    Description : In 1895 the council asked Drewitt Ormonde Drewitt the owner of Jarrow Hall for the donation of a piece of land in order to build a park the request was refused. After drewitt's death in 1910 the field in front of Jarrow Hall was donated by Alfred Chaytor the adopted son of Drewitt. This was turned into Drewitt playing fields in 1912.
