    Type : Lantern Slide Description : An 1883 view of Castle Garth Newcastle upon Tyne. The view shows the shops and houses on either side of Castle Garth. The entrance to Dog Leap Stairs is in the foreground to the right. Collection : Local Studies Source of Information : See 012008 for an almost identical copy of this photograph. The only difference is that the boy who was standing beside the shop in the centre to the right is missing. A shadow can be seen in the place where the boy was standing in the other photograph.
