    Type : Lantern Slide Description : A view of Bessie Surtees House Sandhill Newcastle upon Tyne taken in 1932. The photograph shows the interior of one of the rooms which is furnished. A tapestry is hanging from one of the walls and there is a rug on the wooden floor. The walls and the ceiling are painted white. The beams in the ceiling have been left exposed. There is a large stone fireplace in one of the walls. The fireplace is surrounded by panelling.Bessie Surtees House is a 20th century amalgamation of Surtees House and Milbank House (41-44 Sandhill).
