    Type : Lantern Slide Description : A view of Bessie Surtees House Sandhill Newcastle upon Tyne taken in 1929. The photograph shows the interior of one of the rooms in Bessie Surtees House. The room has been subdivided with a wooden partition. The walls are decorated with wooden panelling with carved wooden pilasters at regular intervals. The ceiling is plain with a plaster motif in one corner.Bessie Surtees House is a 20th century amalgamation of Surtees House and Milbank House (41-44 Sandhill).
