Type : Lantern Slide Description : A view of Bessie Surtees House Sandhill Newcastle upon Tyne taken in 1929. The photograph shows part of the interior of one of the rooms. The walls of the room are covered with wooden panelling. The panelling is interspersed with carved wooden pilasters. Above the pilasters there is a carved wooden face. There is a fireplace in the centre of the wall with a small cooker beside it. Bessie Surtees House is a 20th century amalgamation of Surtees House and Milbank House (41-44 Sandhill).
