    Type : Lantern Slide Description : A view of Bessie Surtees House Sandhill Newcastle upon Tyne taken in 1929. The photograph shows the wooden half-turn and landing staircase in the Surtees House. Bessie Surtees House is a twentieth century amalgamation of Surtees House and Milbank House (41-44 Sandhill). The Surtees House was built in 17th century.
