    Type : Lantern Slide Description : A 1913 photograph of the sundial on the roof of the Keep. The sundial is in the foreground with part of one of the towers of the Keep in the background. A woman is standing beside a small cannon which is positioned in front of the tower wall.Castles Collection : Local Studies Source of Information : The sundial can be dated to 1667 and originally came from Carville Hall near Wallsend. The upper part of the face has the motto: 'Time tide doth waste therefore make haste we shall' the sentence is imcomplete but should have the word 'dial' added to it.
