The photograph has been taken from the top of Grey Street looking towards the Theatre Royal and beyond. In the centre foreground there is a staircase which leads into the Metro station. The Central Exchange Buildings are to the right of the staircase with 'National Westminster Bank' on the ground floor. Market Street runs in front of the bank. The portico of the Theatre Royal is in the centre to the left. The tower of St Nicholas Cathedral can be seen in the background to the right.
