    Type : Photograph Medium : Print-black-and-white Description : An undated postcard of Blackett Street Newcastle upon Tyne. The view has been taken from an upper floor of the YMCA building at the junction of Blackett Street and Grainger Street looking down Blackett Street towards New Bridge Street. Eldon Buildings can be seen in the foreground to the right. The clock of Reid's the Jewellers can also be seen to the right. It is a busy street scene with cars parked on either side of the road and a tram travelling down the centre. Cook's Corner junction of New Bridge Street and Northumberland Street and the Laing Art Gallery tower can be seen in the distance.
