    This photograph shows a view of patients and staff of Ward 26, 3rd Northern General Hospital, Sheffield. The photograph was taken at some time in December 1916 and documents the Christmas Celebrations for the patients. Reference: DF.BGS-4-6-2 This set offers a rare and intimate glimpse in to the Life of a Wounded Soldier recovering from the horrors of World War One. This particular set of photographs is taken from a collection held at Tyne & Wear Archives capturing the every day lives of the nurses and patients at the 3rd Northern General Hospital, Sheffield and Longshaw Lodge Convalescent Home for Wounded Soldiers, Grindleford, near Sheffield.
